well i see your point but if your saitek was so uber why did you buy another one, oh let me guess you got another rig. My microsoft k/b i have had for 10+ years, never had my keys not work, letter wear off the keys> odd that you would have to do that to a saitek!! ???? and why would you need to take it apart to clean it, i again never have had to do that, run a vacumm over the k/b should be fine!
i have a saitek backlit k/b or had one now its used for the test rig, thats all there good for paper weights or for my daughter to jump up and down on.
if you want the best k/b on the market go to maxiumpc.com they will tell you whats the best k/b to have as a gamer and guess what saitek dont even make the top 10~!!!!!!!!!!
im glad your brand loyal, but its so subpar~~ dwell in your confidence bottum line is they suck ive owned one ill never buy another!!!
the guy ask what k/b to buy i recommend the g-15 not becuase i own one but because this k/b is a cut above everything out at the moment, so plz refrain from flaming because i bought what is currently viewed as one of the best k/b around.
humbly,

I got a new one for two reasons - One, yeah, I got a new rig. Built it with cash left over from the holiday (I save up 'till the end of the year). I wanted something to fit my scheme, since I bought the original Saitek, the gray one with the extra macro-pad. I heard about the Eclipse and LOVED my other board, so I bought this one for me new rig, since it's black as a scheme color.

The eclipse seems interesting to me because I like the idea of backlit keys. The optimus is a nice concept, AFAIK there is going to be a keyboard with a few keys only with displays in them later this year but it's just something I heard.

I don't think we'll be seeing LCD keyboards for a while - not until they work out a way to defuse dead pixals.
I honestly can't wait, though - I'd buy one right now if they were out and were programable.
